A few years ago, I was hand picked by Theodore Aggelopoulos, one of the best European filmmakers and probably my favorite actually, to participate in his film called The Dust of Time (through a submission system) as an uncredited AD. He was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met, and was so graceful about me not being able to shut up about his film Eternity and a Day being the third best film I’ve ever seen. I was so sad to hear that on Tuesday, he was involved in an accident while crossing a busy road to get to the set of his latest film The Other Sea. He passed away. He was a genius and I will never forget how lucky I was to have met him. There is a rumor that one of his sons, who are also talented filmmakers, will finish shooting the film, but I’m hoping that it will get a release one day. Oh man.
